Weekly Devotions
Pause once each week to reflect on the bigger picture of what Jesus is doing.
Week 1 Devotional: Drawing Near
Before the cross, Jesus invites closeness. Holy Week begins with worship, surrender, and a heart that stays near even when the road gets heavy.
Footsteps in Faith
- Where do I need to slow down and be with Jesus again?
- What am I holding back that He’s inviting me to surrender?
Pray
Jesus, keep me close. Make my heart steady as I follow You. Amen.
Week 2 Devotional: From Cross to Resurrection
The cross shows love that doesn’t quit. The tomb shows silence that doesn’t mean absence. The resurrection shows victory that changes everything.
Footsteps in Faith
- Where do I need to believe “It is finished” applies to me?
- What would it look like to live with resurrection hope this week?
Pray
Jesus, thank You for the cross and the empty tomb. Teach me to live free. Amen.
Day 1 — Come Closer
Holy Week begins with closeness—not performance. Worship is often quiet, costly, and misunderstood, yet Jesus calls it beautiful.
Footsteps in Faith
- What have I been holding back from Jesus?
- Where do I need to sit with Him again?
Pray
Jesus, draw me close. I choose You again today. Amen.
Day 2 — The King Who Came Gently
Jesus enters as King—not with force, but with gentleness and purpose. He still comes gently to hearts that will receive Him.
Footsteps in Faith
- Where have I expected Jesus to “fix it fast” instead of transform me deeply?
- What would it look like to welcome Him as King today?
Pray
Jesus, be King in me. I welcome Your way. Amen.
Day 3 — A House of Prayer
Jesus clears the temple because He cares about what happens inside. Holy Week can be a clearing in us too—making room for prayer again.
Footsteps in Faith
- What noise has crowded my faith—fear, hurry, distraction?
- What would “making room” look like today?
Pray
Jesus, clear what clutters my heart. Teach me to pray. Amen.
Day 4 — Stay Awake
Jesus says, “Watch and pray.” Not to shame us—He knows what pressure does. Prayer keeps us present with Him.
Footsteps in Faith
- Where do I drift when life gets heavy?
- What’s one small way I can “watch and pray” today?
Pray
Jesus, strengthen my spirit when I feel weak. Keep me close. Amen.
Day 5 — When Love Is Costly
Love isn’t proven by what’s easy. It’s proven by what you’re willing to pour out. Jesus calls wholehearted worship beautiful.
Footsteps in Faith
- Where do I need freedom from people’s opinions?
- What does wholehearted love look like today?
Pray
Jesus, free me from fear and teach me to love You boldly. Amen.
Day 6 — The Table
Jesus invites them to the table knowing the cross is near. Communion is grace for the surrendered—never a reward for perfection.
Footsteps in Faith
- What do I need to receive from Jesus today?
- How can I live from His love instead of striving?
Pray
Jesus, thank You for inviting me near. Teach me to receive Your grace. Amen.
Day 7 — In the Garden
Gethsemane shows honest surrender: “Not my will, but Yours.” Faith doesn’t deny pain—faith chooses obedience through it.
Footsteps in Faith
- Where do I need to surrender control?
- What does trust look like in my “garden” today?
Pray
Jesus, meet me here. Strengthen me to trust the Father’s heart. Amen.
Day 8 — Not Guilty—Yet Condemned
Jesus is treated as the guilty One so the guilty could be set free. Love holds steady when justice looks delayed.
Footsteps in Faith
- Where do I need to remember Jesus understands suffering?
- What does His choice to endure say about His love for me?
Pray
Jesus, thank You for standing in my place. Help me trust Your love. Amen.
Day 9 — It Is Finished
“It is finished” means the debt is paid. When shame whispers “not enough,” the cross answers, “Paid in full.”
Footsteps in Faith
- What am I still trying to earn from God?
- Where do I need to receive grace as a gift?
Pray
Jesus, thank You for finishing what I could never finish. I receive Your grace. Amen.
Day 10 — The Silence
Holy Saturday reminds us: waiting is still holy. Silence is not absence. The tomb is not the end of your story.
Footsteps in Faith
- What am I waiting on God for?
- How can I practice trust while I wait?
Pray
God, strengthen my faith in the quiet. Teach me to wait with hope. Amen.
Day 11 — The Stone Rolled Away
The stone was rolled away so we could look in and see: He is alive. Hope has a name—and it’s Jesus.
Footsteps in Faith
- What “stone” feels impossible right now?
- What changes when I remember resurrection power is real?
Pray
Jesus, I believe You are alive. Roll away what has trapped my hope. Amen.
Day 12 — Mary’s Morning
Mary thinks the story is over—until Jesus speaks her name. Resurrection is personal. He restores hearts.
Footsteps in Faith
- Where do I feel like “it’s too late”?
- What would change if I believed Jesus is speaking my name?
Pray
Jesus, open my eyes to recognize You. Restore my hope. Amen.
Day 13 — The Road to Emmaus
Sometimes Jesus is closer than we feel. He meets us on ordinary roads and lights our hearts through His Word.
Footsteps in Faith
- Where have I missed Jesus because I expected Him to show up differently?
- What helps me recognize Him—Word, prayer, worship, community?
Pray
Jesus, open my eyes to see You. Let Your Word burn in my heart again. Amen.
Day 14 — Live Resurrected
Easter isn’t a moment we admire—it’s a life we enter. Because Jesus lives, you can walk in newness of life.
Footsteps in Faith
- Where do I need “newness” most—mind, habits, relationships, hope?
- What is one resurrected step I can take this week?
Pray
Jesus, help me live what I believe—one faithful step at a time. Amen.
