AJ’s Story — A Light That Still Shines
This page is written with a love that continues beyond this life. A love that cannot be undone by time, distance, or loss. A love only a mother knows — and one that God Himself understands. This is AJ’s story… and my story… and the story God is still writing through both of us.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18
His Life, His Smile, His Love
AJ was more than a son — he was joy in human form. He carried a warmth that filled every room. He loved deeply, laughed loudly, and lived with a heart that touched more lives than he ever knew.
He was a father, a brother, a grandson, a friend… but to me, he was my heart, my world. He was my baby. And nothing — not even death — can change that.
The Day Everything Changed
July 23, 2023 will always feel like the day the world broke open. The day every breath felt heavier. The day questions formed that will never receive answers on this side of heaven.
It is okay to still ask why. It is okay to feel stuck in that moment. It is okay to miss him so deeply that the grief comes in waves and brings me to my knee's. That when I think about forever, I can't breath.
A Love That Still Lives
Love does not die. Love does not disappear. Love does not fade with time.
The love I have for AJ still breathes inside me. It shapes the way I keep him alive in rememberance. It guides the way I honor him so he is never forgotten. AJ is woven into every part of Wholehearted Legacy — because his life changed mine forever.
The Hope That Holds Us Together
This is not the end of AJ’s story. This is not where our story ends. This is where heaven becomes the anchor that keeps me standing.
One day — in God’s perfect timing — I will see him again. Whole. Smiling. Running toward me. And every tear I have cried will be redeemed in a moment.
A Prayer from a Mother’s Heart
Lord, hold my heart gently in Your hands. I will forever carry this love along with a grief that runs deep. Whisper peace into the places still broken, comfort into the places still aching, and hope into the places that feel empty. Thank You for the promise of heaven. I will keep his memory bright and his light shining until the day we meet again. Amen.
